Worth Media Group was founded in 1986, with the goal of informing and inspiring a community of successful leaders across business, finance, tech, innovation and society to expand their impact on the world. Each year, Worth Magazine celebrates The Worthy 100. Worth chooses 100 individuals using their talent, resources and platforms to create meaningful change. The 100 come from every corner of public life—art, business, finance, science, policy, media, and social impact. In 2025, FoodStream’s co-founders Richard Cumming and Johanna Salazar were both recognized for their work with FoodStream and their positive impact on communities in New York City and beyond. Their selection to the list was alongside such noteworthy figures as musician Bad Bunny, former basketball star Michael Jordan and actor and activist Michael J. Fox.
Together In 2021, Richard and Johanna co-founded FoodStream Network to connect nonprofits, farms, retailers, and schools through a single real-time platform for rescuing surplus food, educating communities, and responding to crises—and by 2025, the network supports an impressive 850+ organizations. FoodStream’s mission is to build the largest global community fighting food insecurity, powered by AI, real-time data and collective action.
The FoodStream team is grateful to Worth for recognizing our founders and to all of our partners in the community that do so much to help fight hunger and improve lives. We also recognize there is still much work to continue to do. The FoodStream team continues to innovate and update the Connect platform and find new ways to support our users. We encourage our members to reach out to FoodStream for ways we can help in the service of the communities in need, important to all of us.
